“Korean Air Honored as ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ at Airline Excellence Awards”

Korean Air has been honored with the prestigious ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ award at the Airline Excellence Awards organized by Airline Ratings. In addition to this top recognition, the airline also secured the title of ‘Best Airline in North Asia’ and an impressive 4th place ranking in the ‘Top 20 Airlines of the Year’ category.

The ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ award is a testament to Korean Air’s exceptional performance and remarkable ability to navigate the challenges faced by the global aviation industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline successfully converted passenger aircraft into dedicated cargo planes, effectively addressing disruptions in sea transportation and demonstrating its commitment to meeting cargo demand.

These outstanding achievements were announced by Travel Leisure News on May 31st, following the presentation of the 2023 Airline Excellence Awards by Airline Ratings, a renowned Australian aviation and travel media outlet.

The Airline Excellence Awards recognize the excellence and innovation demonstrated by airlines worldwide. With over 440 airlines evaluated, Korean Air’s recognition as the ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ highlights its exceptional contributions to the industry and its commitment to delivering high-quality services.

Korean Air’s success can be attributed to its efficient cargo aircraft operation, continuous technological investments, and the introduction of innovative solutions to enhance customer service competitiveness. These factors have not only enabled the airline to achieve high scores in passenger satisfaction evaluations but have also played a vital role in its overall success.

Despite the challenging circumstances caused by the pandemic, Korean Air has remained resilient and forward-thinking. The airline actively introduced new aircraft, including the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-8 and A321-neo, showcasing its dedication to modernizing its fleet and providing an enhanced travel experience.

Furthermore, Korean Air’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident through its provision of in-flight Wi-Fi services on international routes since June of the previous year. This commitment to delivering exceptional services has been recognized and praised by the Airline Excellence Awards.

Last year, Korean Air also received notable accolades at the Airline Excellence Awards, including the ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ and ‘Best Long-Haul Airline in Asia’ awards. Geoffrey Thomas, Editor-in-Chief of Airline Ratings, commented, “Korean Air’s successive wins showcase its significant contributions in resolving the global cargo supply shortage during the pandemic, alongside its outstanding performance in enhancing passenger services.”
