팔공산 갓바위는 경산 관봉 정상의 석조여래좌상을 찾아 오르는 대표 기도·탐방 코스다. 대구 쪽 관암사 코스는 편도 약 2km로 비교적 짧지만 관암사 이후 가파른 돌계단이 이어진다. 빠르면 왕복 2시간 안팎에 다녀올 수 있지만 부모님과 함께라면 쉼터와 전망 구간에서 쉬는 시간을 포함해 2시간 30분 이상 여유를 두는 편이 현실적이다.
